Biography

Prof. Neveen is a professor of Genetics at Ain Shams University, Egypt. Her scientific focus area is the identification of all disease-causing genes and the development of tests to detect at least some of the mutations that are responsible for single-gene disorders and for susceptibility to many other common diseases. Her research focuses on applying genetic tests that benefit those at risk of genetic and chromosomal disorders by permitting early treatment or, when treatment is not available, by providing prospective parents with options for avoiding the conception or birth of children affected with serious disorders. During her research journey, she has learned different cytogenetic techniques, mainly human cytogenetics, from 1999 to the date. Such as Karyotyping, High-Resolution Chromosome Banding Analysis (G/T Banding technique); Determination of numerical and structural aberrations, Mitotic Index, Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) technique, Animal Cytogenetics aspects.
