When a stroke strikes, every minute counts. Nearly two million brain cells can be lost each minute that blood flow stays blocked, so the speed and quality of care in those first hours often decide whether a person walks out of the hospital or never fully recovers. And stroke is no longer just a concern for older adults, as a growing number of people in their thirties and forties are now being affected.
This track covers stroke care from the first call for help to life after discharge. Sessions will look at thrombolytics, mechanical thrombectomy, and how to choose the right patients for each. We will also discuss brain hemorrhage, aneurysms, small vessel disease, carotid disease, and the steps that lower the chance of a second stroke.
Emergency doctors, neurologists, interventional teams, nurses, therapists, and researchers are invited to share what is helping patients in their hospitals and communities.
