Pediatric Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), cerebral palsy, and childhood epilepsy are prevalent neurological conditions in the pediatric population. Early diagnosis and appropriate interventions significantly influence developmental outcomes, including learning, communication, and growth.

This track addresses neurological conditions of infancy and childhood, including neurodevelopmental disorders, childhood epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and rare genetic disorders. Sessions will examine etiologies, such as genetic alterations and prenatal or early childhood influences, as well as early screening, diagnostic strategies, behavioral and educational interventions, medical management, and family-centered care. The program will also emphasize the often-overlooked need for support during the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare services.

Pediatric neurologists, pediatricians, psychologists, therapists, educators, and researchers are welcome to share what is helping children and families thrive.

Key topics include:

  • Autism spectrum disorder: diagnostic approaches and support strategies
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) across the lifespan
  • Intellectual disability and developmental delays
  • Childhood epilepsy and developmental epileptic encephalopathies
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Genetic and rare pediatric neurological disorders
  • Early screening and intervention
  • Transition from pediatric to adult care

The objective is to advance a future in which every child receives the necessary support to achieve their full potential.
