Brain Injury, surviving a stroke, or a spinal cord injury is only the first step. The months and years that follow decide how much of everyday life a person can reclaim. The good news is that the nervous system can keep adapting long after the initial damage, and well-planned rehabilitation helps it rebuild function.
This track addresses patient recovery after stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions. Sessions will cover physical, occupational, speech and language therapy, along with newer tools such as robot-assisted training, virtual reality, tele-rehabilitation, and non-invasive brain stimulation. The session also covers measuring success in ways patients care about, such as walking independently, returning to work, and managing daily tasks at home.
Rehabilitation physicians, therapists, nurses, engineers, and researchers are encouraged to share the approaches helping their patients regain independence.
