7th Edition of Neurology World Conference 2027

Scientific Sessions - NWC 2027

Neuromuscular Disorders and ALS

Neuromuscular disorders affect the nerves and muscles that help us to breathe, move, and swallow. These disorders are hard to diagnose, and very limited treatment options are available. Gene therapies, antisense drugs, and targeted immune treatments are currently in clinical trials to treat neuromuscular disorders.

The track covers ALS, SMA, Muscular dystrophies, myasthenia gravis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome, among others, as well as current treatment and diagnostic options. Sessions will look at genetic testing and nerve conduction studies, newer treatments such as gene-targeted therapies and complement and FcRn inhibitors, and the multidisciplinary care that helps patients maintain strength, breathing, and quality of life.

Neurologists, neurophysiologists, geneticists, physical therapists, respiratory specialists, and researchers are welcome to share work that is changing the outlook for people with these conditions.

Topics include:

  • ALS: genetics, clinical trials, and care
  • Spinal muscular atrophy and gene therapy
  • Muscular dystrophies
  • Myasthenia gravis and new immune therapies
  • Guillain-Barré syndrome and CIDP
  • Peripheral and diabetic neuropathy
  • Electrodiagnosis and nerve and muscle imaging
  • Multidisciplinary and respiratory care

Be part of the progress that is bringing new hope to people with neuromuscular disease.
